Pension Hike: The Odisha government has announced a big relief for the elderly and severely disabled citizens of the state. The government has increased their monthly pension amount to Rs 3500. This new pension rate will be considered effective from January 2025 and all eligible beneficiaries will start getting its benefits by June 2025.
Director of Social Security and Disabled Empowerment Department and IAS Niyati Patnaik has issued a letter to all the District Social Security Officers and given instructions.
In this, he has said that a list of elderly people of 80 years of age or above and eligible beneficiaries with 80 percent or more disability should be prepared and sent to the department soon.
Instructions to District Magistrates
A copy of this letter has also been sent to all the District Magistrates of the state for information so that they can cooperate in the implementation of this order by doing proper coordination at the district level. It has been made mandatory to prepare the list of eligible beneficiaries as per Appendix-A and send it to the department for approval.
