Finland Permanent Residency: Finland is one of the happiest countries in the world, attracting people with its lifestyle, security, and natural beauty. Indian citizens also dream of settling and working here. Finland is offering the opportunity to settle here with Permanent Residency (PR).

Finland Permanent Residency: Finland is considered one of the happiest countries in the world, with its lifestyle, security, and natural beauty that attract people. This is why many Indian citizens now dream of settling and working there. Obtaining Permanent Residency (PR) in Finland not only provides a better quality of life but also confers numerous rights, such as permission to live, work, and bring family with them.

Furthermore, PR also facilitates the path to citizenship. In recent years, the Finnish government has made changes to its immigration rules, making the country an even more attractive destination for professionals in the IT, engineering, and healthcare sectors. Let us explain how to apply.

The Finnish government made changes

In 2025, the Finnish government made significant changes to its immigration rules, making it easier for those working in sectors like IT, healthcare, and engineering to settle there permanently. With a Finnish PR, any non-European citizen, such as an Indian, can live and work there permanently.

PR holders receive benefits like healthcare, education, and other social benefits. This card only needs to be renewed every five years. However, PR and citizenship are two different things. To obtain Finnish citizenship, a person must have lived in the country for at least eight years and speak the official language.

Some new changes took place in 2025

The Finnish government recently amended work visa and family reunification rules. Anyone wishing to bring their family back to Finland must have lived there for at least two years. The minimum age for both spouses is 21 years.
