Keeping a dog or cat in a house licensed by the Municipal Corporation in Aligarh can now prove costly. The Municipal Corporation team will go door-to-door to check whether the license of the dog or cat has been made or not. If the license is not obtained, the pet owner will be fined Rs 5,000 and the pet will be confiscated.

It is necessary to register by 31st March

Municipal Commissioner Amit Aseri has taken this step while reviewing the dog license. Expressing his displeasure over getting fewer licenses, he has given instructions to send teams to residential colonies, apartments and localities for the next 15 days to check the license of pet dogs or cats in homes. In such a situation, now strict action will be taken against those keeping pets without license. The Municipal Corporation has been organizing regular camps for registration of pet dogs and cats, but the animal owners are still not getting their pets licensed. Registration of pet animals is mandatory.

Registration of only 133

Giving information, Additional Municipal Commissioner Rakesh Kumar said that if a dog or cat owner does not register by March 31, then his owner will be fined Rs 5000. The Municipal Corporation is also keeping an eye on all dog shows and veterinary cleaning. Here also a surprise investigation will be conducted. Only 133 animal lovers have registered their animals in the urban area.
