If an employee dies and there is no nominee registered in the account, the family may face significant difficulties in claiming the PF benefits. However, adding a nominee ensures that the PF funds reach the rightful recipient.
How to add a nominee to your PF account?
Step 1: First, visit the EPFO’s official member portal, unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface. Log in by entering your UAN number and password.
Step 2 – After logging in, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to complete the login. Then, go to the ‘Manage’ section and select the ‘E-Nomination’ option.
Step 3 – Now, go to the ‘Provide Details’ tab and save your information. Click ‘Yes’ to update the family declaration and fill in the family member’s details in ‘Add Family Details’.
Step 4 – Then, enter the nominee’s details, such as name, Aadhaar number, address, etc., in the ‘Nomination Details’ section. After entering all the details, click ‘E-Sign’. Your e-nomination process will be completed once you enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
