Platform ticket sales will remain suspended at five major railway stations: New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin Anand Vihar, and Ghaziabad until October 28th. However, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and those dropping off female passengers can purchase platform tickets from the enquiry office. This decision has been taken to manage crowds. Parcel offices will also remain closed at three major railway stations: New Delhi, Old Delhi, and Anand Vihar for the next ten days, until October 26th.
Northern Railway said in a statement, “In view of the heavy rush due to upcoming festivals like Diwali and Chhath, the sale of platform tickets has been discontinued at New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal and Ghaziabad railway stations from 15-10-2025 to 28-10-2025.”
