PM Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train on the 17th and nine Amrit Bharat Expresses on the 18th.

Indian Railways: Ahead of the assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to gift trains to both states. On January 17th, the Prime Minister will flag off the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train, which will run between the two states. On January 18th, he will flag off nine Amrit Bharat Express trains, which will benefit passengers from Assam and West Bengal.

Indian Railways: West Bengal and Assam are set to receive nine Amrit Bharat Express trains. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off these trains from Singur in Hooghly district on January 18th. Prior to this, on January 17th, PM Modi will inaugurate the country’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train at Malda Town Station. On that day, one Vande Bharat train will depart from Malda Town Station for Kamakhya and another for Howrah. A senior railway official provided this information.

Travel to Mumbai and South India will become easier for people of Bengal.

With the inauguration of Amrit Bharat trains, Bengal residents will have easier travel from Alipurduar Station to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata Station to Tambaram, Varanasi, and Anand Vihar, New Jalpaiguri to Tiruchirapalli, and Nagercoil. Similarly, Assam residents will enjoy affordable, modern, and comfortable travel from Guwahati to Rohtak, and Dibrugarh to Lucknow.

Indian Railways: Amrit Bharat Express train to run for the first time in 2023

Amrit Bharat Express trains are a boon for travelers. Launched in 2023, these trains have fewer stops and cover long distances without any interruptions. They offer non-AC long-distance sleeper class coaches. Fares are approximately ₹500 per 1,000 kilometers.

30 Amrit Bharat Express trains operating in the country

The fare structure is simple and transparent, with no dynamic pricing. This makes these trains accessible to the common man. Since its launch in December 2023, 30 Amrit Bharat Express trains have been launched in the country. Next week, nine Amrit Bharat Express trains will be added, bringing the total number to 39.

AMRUT Bharat offers these state-of-the-art amenities

Passengers on these trains can enjoy a variety of modern amenities. Each coach is equipped with foldable snack tables, mobile phone and bottle holders, fast charging points, radium floor strips, comfortable seats and berths, modern toilets with electro-pneumatic flushing, and fire extinguishing systems. The coaches have also been designed to accommodate passengers with disabilities. A pantry car will make long-distance travel more comfortable.
