November 30 is the last date for raising grain for free
In fact, in view of the economic crisis of the poor during the lockdown implemented to prevent the spread of corona virus epidemic, the government had announced to provide food grains for free to about 80 crore ration card holders of the country under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. . Under this scheme, there is a provision of giving 5 kg of wheat or rice and 1 kg of gram to each member of a family. Free 5 kg wheat or rice and 1 kg gram lentils are in addition to the existing quota of food grains available on the ration card.
Will be able to get grains for free till Monday
In the second phase of the lockdown, the government extended the scheme to Diwali and Chhath Puja. Announcing this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the family of 80 crore ration card holders in the country will be provided food grains for free till November 30 after Diwali and Chhath Puja. That is, the benefit of this scheme can be availed till next Monday.
The poor get grain for free without a ration card
According to a media report quoting a source from the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public, there is no idea of extending the scheme after November 30. Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the poor do not need a ration card to get food grains, but only through the Aadhaar, the needy get ration. However, it is a matter of fact that to get food grains for free, registration has to be done for this scheme through Aadhaar card. On registration, they are given a slip, which is shown and free grain is taken.
