You can claim after 45 days
In Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, if a person dies 45 days after the purchase of insurance, then the family can claim. Claim will not be valid before this. However, if the person dies in an accident, then this condition does not matter.

Benefits of the scheme
If a person dies after investing in PMJJBY, then his family gets 2 lakh rupees. It can be taken by a person between 18 and 50 years of age. A premium of Rs 330 is to be paid annually. The account holder of any bank can buy this insurance. Even if a person is killed or commits suicide, he gets insurance cover. The scheme started on 9 May 2015.
