Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is being run by the central government. This scheme was first launched in 2010. It was renamed in 2017. The purpose of this scheme is to provide financial assistance for nutritious food to pregnant women and lactating mothers, increase their awareness of health services, and encourage positive thinking about girl child.

Under the scheme, the central government provides ₹5,000 to first-time mothers. If a woman gives birth to a daughter for the second time, she receives ₹6,000 again. The money received through the scheme can be used to provide nutritious food to the mother and child.
