The post office is a very good place for investment. Your money is safe here. If you invest in ways and wisdom, you can benefit greatly. Post Office Monthly Income Scheme (POMIS) is a good option for earning. A joint account can be opened under this scheme. The benefit will also double. Now know its method.
Invest like this
You have to open a joint account with your spouse in the monthly income scheme of the post office. Actually you can invest minimum Rs 1,000 and maximum Rs 4.5 lakh in a single account of this scheme. But if the account is joint, then the maximum investment amount is Rs 9 lakh. By the way, if you want, more than 2 people can also open this account. Equal money is distributed to everyone at maturity.
How much is the interest rate
It may be noted that there is no change in the interest rates for the post office savings schemes for the October-December quarter. Accordingly, 6.6 percent interest will be available on the monthly income account scheme as before. The returns under the scheme are decided on an annual basis. Now if we see 6.6% interest on an investment of Rs 9 lakh, then it comes to Rs 59,400. Here 9 lakh rupees have to be made in the joint account of the husband and wife. In this context, both of them can earn Rs 59,400 by sitting in the year together.
