Post Paid Sim to Prepaid Sim: Telecom Department has issued new guidelines to convert your SIM card from prepaid to postpaid and postpaid to prepaid through OTP. Using the OTP based process, the mobile connection can be changed from prepaid to postpaid and its prepaid to postpaid connection.
This information is in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Telecommunications on 21.09.2021. In which the customer was allowed to convert his SIM again only after 90 days of the previous conversion, till then you will have to take telecom services in the form of updated postpaid or prepaid SIM.

In partial modification of these directions, it has been decided that the customer can now re-convert after 30 days from the date of first conversion. However, if any subsequent OTP based conversion is opted for by the customer, they will be allowed to re-convert only after 90 days from the date of previous conversion. This will be clearly communicated to the customer before initiating each conversion.
If a customer wishes to convert within the lock-in period of 30 or 90 days (as the case may be), they may do so by following the existing KYC process at the PoS or authorised outlets of the licensees.
