During her visit to Vrindavan, President Draupadi Murmu met with Saint Premananda Maharaj and received his blessings. Prior to this, she visited and worshipped at ISKCON and the Prem Mandir.
President Draupadi Murmu visited Vrindavan’s renowned saint, Premananda Maharaj, on Friday, the second day of her visit to Braj. Amid tight security, the President met Maharaj at the Shrihit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram and received his blessings. This spiritual encounter has drawn the attention of not only the residents of Braj but also devotees from across the country.
A private conversation and discussion on spirituality
The President’s convoy arrived at Premanand Maharaj’s ashram at around 7:45 am on Friday. The President stayed there for about half an hour. Upon arrival at the ashram, Premanand Maharaj’s disciples and entourage gave the President a grand and traditional welcome. This was followed by a private conversation between President Murmu and the revered Maharaj. According to sources, the discussions during this meeting primarily focused on profound topics such as spirituality, selfless service, and public welfare. The President expressed her deep respect for Maharaj’s simple life and his powerful spiritual teachings. During the meeting, the atmosphere of the ashram was completely devotional and peaceful.
Darshan at the ISKCON Temple and Circumambulation of the Samadhi Sthal
Earlier, on Thursday, the President visited the world-famous ISKCON Temple (Shri Krishna Balaram Mandir). Despite heavy rain, the President visited the temple with devotion. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel was also present. He was welcomed by Panchagouda Das and other senior members of the temple administration. The President visited the Samadhi Sthal of ISKCON founder Srila Prabhupada Maharaja, circumambulated it, and performed Aarti of the Lord amidst Vedic chants. The dance and Sankirtan performed by the temple girls mesmerized the President.
Laser Show and Sankirtan at Prem Mandir
On the next leg of her Vrindavan visit, the President arrived at the Prem Mandir. Here, temple priests welcomed her with Vedic chants and provided her with a special darshan of the divine idol of Shri Radha and Krishna. The President also witnessed a spectacular laser show held within the temple premises. During the darshan, the aartis and bhajans sung by the 51 ashram residents of the Sankirtan group added to the divine atmosphere. The temple administration presented Her Excellency with spiritual texts and mementos.
The President’s visit was imbued with a message of spirituality and peace. Despite the inclement weather and heavy rain, his devotion remained unabated, a fact appreciated by the saints of Braj.
