Property Registration Rules: Now property registration work will be done from home, old law will be abolished

Online Property Registration: The new era is of online. Any work is being done sitting at home in a jiffy. In this sequence, now there is going to be a big change in the rules of buying and selling of land in the country. Under this, now property registration will also be done sitting at home. There will be no need to run around for this. Actually, the central government is making a new law under a new bill, in which there is a proposal to start the facility of online property registration. With this, the 117-year-old Registration Act made in 1908 will end.

The government sought public opinion on the draft

With the title of ‘The Registration Bill’, this draft has been prepared by the Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development. Its purpose is to modernize the process of property registration. This will bring speed and transparency in the work, people will also get convenience. The people of the country can give their feedback on this till June 25. To make property registration easier, the government wants that all the documents related to it should be digitally secured.

Now all work will be done digitally

The government wants that in the coming time, there should be no need for paper documents for registration, all the work should be done digitally. This will help in curbing fraud, corruption, bogus registration will be stopped. In this new bill, registration of important documents like Agreement to Sell, Power of Attorney, Sale Certificate and Equitable Mortgage has also been made mandatory, many of which were previously excluded. Apart from this, now every seller and buyer will have to go through Aadhaar based verification. However, those who do not want to share their Aadhaar can choose other alternative identification measures for verification.

New law will be implemented across the country

The government has also suggested linking it with other record-keeping agencies to further improve the registration process so that the exchange of information can be done easily. Although online registration has already started in many states, but now a new modern law is being brought to implement it across the country.
