Train Reservation on Diwali: Many railway reservation centers in Delhi will be closed on October 20th for Diwali. Some will remain partially open. Learn about the reservation center schedule:
New Delhi: Passenger Reservation System (PRS) services will be partially operational in the Delhi area on Monday, October 20th, on account of Diwali. The railway administration has announced special arrangements in this regard. According to the information, evening shift services at the IRCA Bhawan, Delhi Junction, and Hazrat Nizamuddin reservation offices will be available only until 6 p.m.
These reservation centers will remain closed in the evening.
Many reservation centers in Delhi will be closed in the evening. Sarojini Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Shakur Basti, Delhi Shahdara, Ghaziabad, Karkardooma, Okhla, Noida, Tughlakabad, Sabzi Mandi, Adarsh Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Rohini, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and International Tourist Bureau (ITB)/IRCA reservation centers will be closed in the evening shift (2 PM to 8 PM). However, all these centers will function normally in the morning shift (8 AM to 2 PM).
These centers will remain closed for the entire day.
While some reservation centers will be partially operational on Diwali, others will be completely closed. This means no reservations will be accepted at these centers throughout the day. Centers that will be closed all day on Diwali include reservation centers located at Parliament House, the Press Club of India, the Railway Board, the Supreme Court, and the High Court . If you are planning to visit these centers to make train reservations on Diwali, change your plans. Go to another center and make your reservation.
Railway preparations for Diwali-Chhath
The Railways has geared up for Diwali and Chhath Puja. Keeping in mind the rush of passengers on the festivals, special trains are being run by the Railways. From 15th to 27th October, 349 trips of special trains will be made from the railway stations of NCR. Also, if the crowd at the station increases, then in such a situation the Railways is preparing to run unreserved special trains. Last year, 3836 trips of special trains were made. This time, 4718 trips will be made till 30th November. This number may increase in the coming days.
Air India special flight
Air India and Air India Express have added 166 additional flights to Patna for Diwali and Chhath Puja . These flights will operate from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru to Patna. Air India will operate 114 additional flights, while Air India Express will add 52. All these flights will operate from October 15 to November 3, 2025.
