Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana: Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana launched, government will train 50 thousand youth in three years

75 Training Centers in 17 Zones and 7 Production Units of Indian Railways have been shortlisted for providing training under Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana.


Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana: Indian Railways has made a great start to improve the skills related to industry development. Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana has been started to empower the youth by providing entry level training in skills. Through this, about 50000 youth will be trained over a period of 3 years. This scheme (Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana) has been launched by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

Under the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana, initially one thousand candidates will be provided training. Selected candidates will be given training in Electrician, Welder, Machinist and Fitter trades. Thereafter, training programs in other trades will be added by the Zonal Railways and production units based on the assessment of regional demands and needs. Explain that the training will be provided free of cost and the selection of the participants will be done on the basis of marks in matriculation based on the applications received online following a transparent mechanism.


Who can apply?
10th class pass and candidates between 18-35 years will be eligible to apply for this scheme. However, on the basis of this training, the participants of the scheme will not have any claim of getting employment in the Railways.

Program developed by Banaras Locomotive Works
The program curriculum of this scheme released by the government has been developed by Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW). In this, trainees will undergo a standardized assessment and at the end of their program will be awarded a certificate in the trade allotted by the National Institute of Rail and Transport. They will also be provided with toolkits for their trade which will help these trainees to utilize their education and increase their self-employment as well as employability in various industries.
