Railway News: You will not be able to book train tickets for relatives online, IRCTC told the truth

IRCTC: IRCTC said that you can book train tickets for people with different surnames. You can book tickets for family, friends and relatives at one go from your IRCTC account.

In the last few days, information being shared on social media regarding railway ticket booking is claiming that if the surname of a passenger is different from the person booking, then such people will not be able to book tickets together. But this information is wrong and IRCTC has taken cognizance of this and given the correct information.

IRCTC said – rumors are false and misleading

IRCTC said through an ex-post that wrong information is being spread on social media regarding e-ticket booking. IRCTC said that these rumors are ‘false and misleading’. IRCTC said that you can book train tickets for people with different surnames. You can book tickets for family, friends and relatives at one go from your IRCTC account, even if your name and surname are completely different.

You can book 24 tickets every month

Let us tell you that in the news being shared on social media, it was being claimed that if the surnames of the passengers are different, then they will not get tickets together. But IRCTC has described these news as ‘false and misleading’. It also told that you can book 12 tickets every month from your IRCTC account as before. But if you have linked your account with Aadhaar, then you can book 24 tickets in a month.

IRCTC also told that you can book tickets for friends, family and relatives using your personal ID. It is worth noting that the tickets booked with personal ID are for their use only, they cannot be sold. If you try to sell these tickets, it will be illegal and will be considered a crime under Section 143 of the Railways Act, 1989.
