Train Journey Rule for Woman: Before traveling by train, passengers, especially single female passengers, should be aware of the rules and regulations of the Railways. Because, you never know when your information may be useful to another female passenger.
Train Journey Rule for Woman: You should be aware of many things before traveling by train. You never know when your information may be useful to another traveler and save him from any loss. After knowing about these rules of Railways, you will be able to contact any Railway staff like TTE. Even during RPF personnel or magisterial checking, no one can harm you. However, Railways has made many changes in its rules in the last few years. But, this rule made 35 years ago has not been changed till date.
Even if you do not have reservation in the train or are traveling without a ticket, according to this law of Indian Railways, you can continue the journey with certain conditions. To travel under this, you must have the platform ticket of the concerned station. If you have a platform ticket then your journey will also be considered legally valid. For this you can continue your journey by paying additional fine.
For this reason this rule had to be made
Similarly, if a single young girl or woman is traveling in a train without a ticket, then the TTE cannot throw her out of the train. There is also a rule of Indian Railways that if a woman is traveling alone in a train and does not have a ticket, then TTE cannot take her down from the train. If the woman has money, she can pay the fine and continue her journey. Even if the woman does not have money, the TTE cannot take her out of the compartment.
Leave aside the passengers, even the railway staff is not aware of this law of the Railways. Railways has made a law in the year 1989, according to which there can be a possibility of untoward incident if a female passenger traveling alone is dropped at any station. At that time, Railways had changed its rules for the safety of single women passengers.
What do TTEs do?
A TTE of Railways says about this, when such a case comes to us, we inform it in the zonal control room. The control room is informed about the current condition of the woman and the circumstances under which the woman is travelling. If we find the matter suspicious then we inform it to the GRP and the GRP gives the responsibility to the lady constable.
