IRCTC Ticket Booking Discount Offer: Travel preparations become very important during the festive season, during which time heavy rush of trains and ticket problems can trouble the passengers. In view of this challenge, Indian Railways has started a new initiative, Railways has launched “Round Trip Package”.
What is the Railway Round Trip Package?
This package is for those passengers who book both the return and return tickets together. Under this, 20% discount is available on the return ticket only on the base fare, which is especially beneficial for families and passengers who are planning a long vacation during the festive season.
Big benefit for passengers
This scheme has started from 14 August 2025 and booking facility is available on IRCTC platform. The special feature in this is that booking of return tickets is not bound by advance reservation rules, which is a big benefit for the passengers.
Till when is the 20% discount available
Booking under this offer will start from 14 August 2025. The onward journey should be between 13 to 26 October 2025, while the return journey is scheduled between 17 November to 1 December 2025. The discount on return tickets is available only on the base fare and this scheme is specially designed for festive travelers.
Step-by-Step process of booking rail tickets with discount
Step 1: Open IRCTC website or Rail Connect app. Select “Festival Round Trip Scheme” or “Round Trip Package” option. Select destination, date and class for onward journey. Only ‘Confirmed’ tickets (CNF) are valid; Flexi or Dynamic Fare tickets are not covered under the discount scheme.
Step 2: Enter passenger details, and book the ticket. PNR will be generated after payment. On the same page or in “Booked History” you will see the option “Book Return Journey (20% Discount)”, select it and book the return journey; discount will be applied automatically.
Keep these things in mind
The discount applies only to the base fare; not to charges and taxes. Both tickets must be booked for the same person, class, route and mode. No cancellations, changes or refunds are possible. No other coupons, vouchers or passes will be applicable. Advance Reservation Period (ARP) rules will not apply to return tickets.
Terms of this offer
No refunds, amendments or other discounts (such as passes, vouchers, concessions) will be applicable on tickets. Booking must be done either online or over the counter, and return tickets must be booked through the same mode. This offer is not applicable on flexi-fare train models (such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi etc.).
