Railway board had decided
In view of the increasing demand for parcels, the Railway Board had also decided to freight with passenger coaches. Transportation of goods from 15 such coaches is being done between Vasco-da-Gama to Kalmeshwar on Sunday. About 10 tons of goods are being transported in each passenger coach.
A total of 166 tonnes of Nestle goods are being carried by the entire train. Railways have earned 6 lakh rupees from this step. From Vasco da Gama, this train has left at 7 am on Sunday, which will reach Kalmeshwar station on October 26 at 13:40. Railways claim that this is proving a win win situation for both Indian Railways and consumers.
