Railways’ gift to Shiva devotees! Fair special trains will run on Mahashivratri; see the full timetable.

On the special occasion of Mahashivratri, millions of Shiva devotees visit major Jyotirlingas and Shiva shrines across the country. In response to the large crowds, Indian Railways has provided significant relief to travelers. The Railways has announced the operation of fair special trains to Ujjain, Bhopal, Sant Hirdaram Nagar (Sehore), and Veraval in Gujarat.

The holy festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated this year on Sunday, February 15, 2026. On this special occasion, Shiva temples across the country are thronged by large crowds of devotees. Millions of devotees visit Somnath-Veraval in Gujarat, Ujjain Mahakal in Madhya Pradesh, and Kubereshwar Dham in Sehore for darshan. In view of the increasing crowds, the Railways has provided significant relief to Shiva devotees. Western Railway has announced the operation of Mahashivratri Mela Special trains to ensure smooth and safe travel for passengers.

Special Train between Rajkot and Veraval

In view of the Mahashivratri fair, an unreserved fair special train (09513/09514) will run daily between Rajkot and Veraval from February 13th to February 17th. Train No. 09513 will depart from Rajkot at 6:55 am and arrive in Veraval at 10:55 am. On the return journey, Train No. 09514 will depart from Veraval at 3:20 pm and arrive in Rajkot at 8:00 pm. Along the way, the train will stop at major stations such as Bhaktinagar, Gondal, Virpur, Jetalsar, Junagadh, and Keshod.

Ujjain to Bhopal and Sant Hirdaram Nagar

Ratlam Division has decided to run three pairs of fair special trains between Ujjain, Bhopal, and Sant Hirdaram Nagar (Sehore) from February 13th to February 23rd.

Train number 09305 will depart from Ujjain daily at 9 am and arrive at Sant Hirdaram Nagar at 1:30 pm. Return train number 09306 will depart at 2:30 pm and arrive at Ujjain at 7:30 pm.

Train number 09307 will depart from Ujjain at 9 pm and arrive at Bhopal at 2:10 am. Return train number 09308 will depart from Bhopal at 3:10 am and arrive at Ujjain at 8 am.

Train number 09313 will depart from Ujjain at 4 pm and arrive at Sant Hirdaram Nagar at 9:40 pm. Return train number 09314 will depart at 10:30 pm and arrive at Ujjain at 2 am.

These trains will stop at major stations including Tarana Road, Maksi, Berchha, Kalisindh, Akodia, Shujalpur, Kalapipal, and Sehore.

General and Sleeper Coaches

According to the railway administration, these fair special trains will be equipped with general and sleeper coaches. Tickets for unreserved trains can be purchased at the counter or through other means. Due to the heavy rush, these trains will prove to be a great relief for pilgrims.
