Rainfall activity is going to increase in the states of South India for the next four to five days and some areas will receive heavy rainfall. States like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Andhra Pradesh etc. will receive heavy rainfall for five days. Meanwhile, during the next two to three days, conditions are favorable for the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon in the remaining parts of Gujarat, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and some areas of Maharashtra.
Talking about South India, light to moderate rain/thundershowers with heavy rain at isolated places are likely at many places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe from October 8 to 12, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam from October 8 to 10, Telangana on October 8, Coastal Karnataka till October 10. Thunderstorms with strong winds are likely over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Telangana for the next five days. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely over North Interior Karnataka from October 8, Lakshadweep and Coastal Karnataka for the next two to three days, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam for the next five days, Rayalaseema from October 8 to 10.
Talking about North West India, there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in Uttarakhand on October 8, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds. Talking about Eastern India, light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in the Gangetic plains from October 8 to 10, in Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim on October 8, and in Odisha from October 9 to 11.
Talking about North East India, there will be heavy rain at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura from October 8 to 10, and in Arunachal Pradesh on October 10.
