MP weather update: There is no alert of heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh at present, but when the new system becomes active from August 28, a period of heavy rain may start in the southern parts.
MP weather update: The strong rain system in Madhya Pradesh is weak at this time. The Meteorological Department has not issued a heavy rain alert in any district on Wednesday. However, there is a possibility of drizzle and light rain in many districts. The Meteorological Department says that a new system will be active from August 28 and due to this, a period of heavy rain will start again in the southern parts of the state.
Gates of dams opened, rivers in spate
On Tuesday, 9 gates of Bargi Dam in Jabalpur and 3 gates of Tawa Dam in Narmadapuram were opened. About 10 thousand cusecs of water was released from Tawa Dam. For this, three gates were opened to a height of two feet each. In Mandsaur district, the Shivna river flowed over the Nahargarh-Billod culvert. The waterfall near the Bada Mahadev temple in Bhanpura has also started flowing.
Effect of rain in many districts
About 1.25 inches of rain was recorded in Ratlam on Tuesday. Whereas, light rain occurred in Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Damoh, Khajuraho, Naugaon and Umaria. Heavy rain in Ratlam and Mandsaur led to waterlogging on roads and intersections. According to the rainfall data, Guna district has received the highest rainfall of 53.3 inches. After this, Mandla recorded 52.8 inches, Ashoknagar recorded 50.5 inches and Sheopur recorded 49.9 inches of rain. Whereas, the districts with the least rainfall are in Indore division. Only 16.3 inches of rain has been recorded in Indore so far.
Weather will deteriorate again from 28th
The Meteorological Department has warned that there may be heavy rain in the southern parts of the state on 28, 29 and 30 August. However, on Wednesday, drizzle and light showers are likely in many districts including Indore and Bhopal.
