Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains will continue in Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa during the next 6-7 days. The department has also predicted extremely heavy rains in Kerala.
IMD said that the meteorological conditions are favorable for further advancement of monsoon in the remaining parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
Along with this, monsoon can also enter the remaining parts of Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and parts of Sikkim in the next three days.
The Meteorological Department has urged people to be alert and take necessary precautions, especially in those areas where there is a high risk of heavy rains.
The administration has also been advised to be prepared to deal with waterlogging and other inconveniences due to rain.
This time the farmers and water resources are expected to benefit from the activity and rapid progress of monsoon, but at the same time there is a need to be cautious about the problems caused by heavy rains.
