Rainfall Alert: The changing weather is not going to stop yet. Due to the new western disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in the capital Delhi and Rajasthan for the next three days. However, a slight increase in temperature has been recorded in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. The minimum temperature in Punjab was recorded above normal, whereas the temperature in Haryana remained close to average. The cold has increased in Uttar Pradesh due to strong winds. Fog and cold may increase in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Due to the new western disturbance, there may also be rain between 1st and 3rd February.
Chilla-e-Kalan ends in Kashmir
Night temperatures rose across most parts of the Kashmir Valley as the intense winter season, known as Chilla-e-Kalan, ended on Friday, officials said. Minimum temperatures in many areas, including Srinagar, settled above the freezing point, providing some relief from the harsh winter weather.
According to Meteorological Department officials, the minimum temperature in Srinagar city was recorded at 1.3 degrees Celsius, up from 0.6 degrees Celsius below zero the previous night and 2.2 degrees Celsius above normal. The minimum temperature in Konibal was 1.0 degrees Celsius, Pulwama 0.1 degrees Celsius, and Kulgam 1.1 degrees Celsius. Temperatures at most weather stations were above normal.
Weather in Punjab and Haryana
Minimum temperatures were above normal in many parts of Punjab on Friday, while they remained close to average in Haryana. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures in Punjab and Haryana are expected to remain close to average. However, the weather may change again from February 1st, with rain expected in many areas.
Rainfall Expected in Rajasthan
Due to the influence of a new western disturbance, rain is expected in many areas of Rajasthan from Saturday. According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, light to moderate rain with lightning is expected in the districts of Ajmer, Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur divisions, and Shekhawati region of the state on January 31st.
On February 1 and 2, light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is expected at isolated places in Ajmer, Kota, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions of northern and eastern Rajasthan. During this period, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry in most parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions.
Delhi Weather
Delhi received some relief from the cold on Friday, with the maximum temperature recorded 0.5 degrees Celsius above the season’s average. The maximum temperature in Delhi was 22.6 degrees Celsius. However, this relief will be short-lived, as the India Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms over the next three days.
