At present, he is under the supervision of doctors in the hospital who are constantly monitoring his health. Regarding the health of the governor, the RBI official said that he is fine now and there is nothing to worry about. RBI will soon issue a formal statement regarding this matter. A medical bulletin is also likely to be issued.
RBI spokesperson said that Governor Shaktikanta Das has been admitted to Apollo Hospital due to gas complaints. He said that his health is improving and he will be discharged in 2-3 hours. He said, there is nothing to panic. Hospital authorities also said that there is no emergency. RBI will soon issue a formal statement regarding the health of the governor.
Shaktikanta Das’ tenure as RBI Governor is going to end on 10 December 2024. It is believed that the government can exchange his tenure for the second consecutive time. If this happens, then after 1960, Shaktikanta Das will create history and make a record of being the longest serving governor. Shaktikanta Das was appointed to the post of governor after the resignation of former RBI Governor Urjit Patel in December 2018. Then the relationship between RBI and the central government became sour.
India faced this crisis strongly during the Corona period while Shaktikanta Das was the governor. RBI then supported the sectors affected by Corona (Covid-19), provided cash and interest rates also saw a huge fall during that period.
