Reliance Jio introduces new monthly subscription plans for JioHotstar, check benefits and features

JioHotstar has made a major change to its subscription structure for new users, now offering monthly plans in three categories: Mobile, Super, and Premium. The company says this decision was made to make the platform more affordable and to accommodate users’ changing viewing habits. Keeping in mind the growing viewership, especially on smart TVs and big screens, JioHotstar has now introduced the option to choose a monthly plan. The new monthly plans will be effective January 28th and will be available alongside the existing quarterly and annual plans.

JioHotstar Monthly Plans (2026)

JioHotstar Mobile Plan

JioHotstar’s Mobile plan is for users who prefer to watch content exclusively on their mobile devices. It costs ₹79 per month, making it the platform’s most affordable option. This plan allows streaming on only one mobile device at a time, and video quality is limited to 720p HD. However, Hollywood content is not included. If users prefer to watch Hollywood movies and series, they will need to purchase a separate add-on for ₹49 per month. This plan is fully ad-supported. The Mobile plan is available for a quarterly option of ₹149 and an annual plan for ₹499.

JioHotstar Super Plan

JioHotstar’s Super plan is designed for those who want to watch content on their mobile devices as well as their laptops, tablets, or smart TVs. It costs ₹149 per month and offers streaming on two devices simultaneously. This plan supports 1080p FHD resolution, making the viewing experience on a large screen even better. The Super plan offers access to Jio Hotstar’s entire content library, including Hollywood content included in the base pack. However, this plan is also ad-supported. The Super plan’s quarterly subscription is available for ₹349, and the annual plan for ₹1,099.

JioHotstar Premium Plan

The Premium plan is JioHotstar’s most expensive and feature-rich subscription. It’s specifically designed for family users and those who enjoy high-quality content on a large screen. It’s priced at ₹299 per month, while quarterly and annual plans are available for ₹699 and ₹2,199, respectively. This plan allows streaming on four devices simultaneously and offers content in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision support. The Premium plan offers ad-free access to all content except live sports and live shows. However, Hollywood content is already included.

If you only watch content on your mobile device and want to enjoy OTT content at a low cost, the Mobile plan is suitable. For those who enjoy FHD quality content on both mobile and TV, the Super plan can be a balanced option. If you’re looking for 4K quality, multi-device support, and a nearly ad-free experience with your family, the Premium plan is the best option.
