This is important information for workers registered with the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Only 14,404 out of 316,694 workers have paid their contributions. Workers who have not renewed their registrations in the past four years may be placed on the inactive list. Renewal by October 15th is mandatory to avail of the benefits of the schemes.
There are 316,694 construction workers registered with the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. After registration, only 14,404 construction workers have submitted their updated contributions.
The remaining registered construction workers have not submitted their updated contributions for several years. The Board is implementing a system on the Board’s portal to place construction workers who have not renewed their registration for four years or more on the inactive list. Workers are advised to renew their registration before October 15th if they wish to continue receiving benefits under the schemes.
Assistant Labor Commissioner Avinash Chandra Tiwari stated that all construction workers registered in the district who have not submitted their updated contributions since registration can renew their registration through the nearest Public Convenience Center (CSV) or by paying the prescribed fee on the Board’s portal www.upbocw.in. The prescribed renewal fee for three years must be paid on the portal at a time. Otherwise, the workers will not be able to avail the benefits of the Board’s schemes in future.
