RO Water: If you are drinking RO water, then be careful, the health of running water is messing with health

Water supply agencies in Tajnagiri also insist that their water is 100% pure, but the reality is that only the highest RO water purifiers are being sold here. About two years ago, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) asked the Central and State Governments to ban the use of RO in areas where water is not very salty as it wastes a lot of water and is conducive to health. Neither is there. The water supply agencies in the cities also insist that their water is 100% pure, but the reality is that most of the RO water purifiers are being sold in Tajanagari or they operate some plants in the name of mineral water. The doers are giving chilled water.

14 Plant Permission, Other Illegal

RO plants are installed in the municipal area. Only 14 plants are allowed from the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA), while around one thousand plants are operating without a license. In the name of RO water, crores of crores of rupees are being done in the city in the summer. People are drinking this water supplied in shops, offices and homes as healthy, but perhaps they are not aware that only tap water is being sold at high prices in the name of RO water. There is no guarantee of its accuracy.

Determine the rate of water on its own

Under the guise of water trade, black traders also decide the rate of sale of water cans themselves. Water is being supplied at different rates in companies and at different rates in homes. A water can contains 15-20 liters of water and it is being sold in the market for 15 to 30 rupees. Some people are supplying water to small shopkeepers in 15 liter water coolers for 15-20 rupees.

Harmful amount of TDS

The amount of TDS in the water being supplied reaches alarming levels. Which is quite harmful for the body. During the purification of water, organic and inorganic elements are given less according to the need of the body. A certain amount of magnesium, calcium, potassium in water is necessary for health. This is investigated through TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). The water supply supplied in the water can is up to 300 ppm, which is hazardous to the body.

Duplicate water supply in the name of the brand

Due to increased consumption of mineral water in the summer, traders of illegal plants are supplying duplicate water under the brand name. There are many busiest areas in the city including Cantt, Sikandra, Rukta, Idgah, Namner, Raja Ki Mandi and Idgah railway station and bus stand, where water bottles of similar branded mineral water are being sold at an expensive price. Huh. From this, shopkeepers to plant operators are making big profits.

Helpless excuse

FSDA officials say that it is true that water cans are being illegally supplied in the city. There is no guarantee of purity, but there is no rule or regulation for such people. Therefore, the Food and Safety Department cannot monitor them. (FSSAI) Control of Food Safety and Standards of India also monitors only packed things.

This is standard

50-150 ppm – best water

150-200ppm – good

200-300 ppm-clean

300-500 PPM – Bad and Harmful

This is important

License of Bureau of Indian Standards required for packed mineral water plant.

Under the Food and Safety Act, it is necessary to take the NOC from the Department of Geological Water Harvesting to operate a mineral water plant.

  • Before harvesting, arrangement of water harvesting is necessary.
  • Plant should be in commercial area
  • This is the working of the plant
  • Filtering dirt and sediment sand in water.
  • Reducing dirt through fine carbon, chlorine from filter water and new organics odor.
  • Eliminating harmful chemicals.
  • Maintaining the mineral according to need.

It must be in mineral water

  • Fluoride 0.5 to 1.5 mg
  • Soluble salts 500 to 1500 mg
  • Nitrate 0 to 45 mg
  • Chloride 10 to 500 mg
  • PHPA 6.5 to 8.5 mg

(As per WHO prepared norms)

Boil water

Senior pediatrician Dr. JN Tandon said that all types of RO water are not pure. There is no guarantee of purity of water sold in large cans in the market. Its purity is also not checked. Cleanliness is not available at the plant. It is better to drink water after boiling it.

Mercury, fluoride, chlorine as well as elements like magnesium, calcium and sodium are essential in water for the body. Therefore TDS check is necessary. This shows the purity of water.

– Dr. Balbir Singh, Head of the Department of Medicine SN Medical College and Hospital, Agra

Registered packed mineral water is periodically checked. The department has no meaning with others.
