RRB Exam date: Railway Section Controller Recruitment Exam date announced, English and GK will not be included in CBT

RRB: Railway Recruitment Board has announced the date of Section Controller Recruitment Exam. RRB has issued a notice stating that the CBT exam for recruitment to 368 Section Controller posts (CEN 04/2025) will be held from February 11, 2026 to February 12, 2026. The exam city will be released 10 days before the exam date. Admit cards will be issued 4 days before. Applications for this recruitment were accepted in October 2025. This is a Pay Level-6 post. The starting salary has been fixed at Rs. 35400. L2 medical standard has been required for this recruitment.

Selection – In the selection process, candidates will have to undergo a single-stage written examination (CBT), CBT, document verification, and medical test.

In the single-stage CBT, candidates will be asked questions only from Maths and Reasoning. English and GS will not be included. 8 times the number of vacancies in the CBT will be shortlisted for CBT. The CBT will consist of 100 questions in 120 minutes. Analytical and Maths will carry 60 marks, Logical Ability 20 marks, and Mental Reasoning 20 marks.

Applications for 22,000 Group D positions in the Railways will begin on January 21st, with a notification issued.

The Railway Recruitment Board has issued a short notification for recruitment to 22,000 Group D positions. Applications for RRB Group D recruitment are available from January 21st, 2026, to February 20th, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply by visiting www.rrbapply.gov.in. The 2025 NTPC recruitment for 12th-level and graduate-level positions has already been announced. Recruitment for ALP, Technician, and Isolated Posts has also been announced. Candidates were now eagerly awaiting Group D recruitment. However, candidates are disappointed with this new 22,000 recruitments announced by the Railways. They question why so few vacancies are being announced, as the Railways has over 140,000 Level 1 positions. Candidates are also campaigning to increase vacancies by tweeting on social media platforms. They have demanded an increase to 100,000.

Update your Aadhaar and your details

RRB stated in a short notice, “Candidates are advised to verify their primary details using Aadhaar while filling the online application, to avoid inconvenience and additional delays caused by special detailed scrutiny at every stage of the recruitment process for non-Aadhaar verified applications. Upon successful verification using Aadhaar, the name and date of birth in Aadhaar will be updated to match 100% with the full name and date of birth available in the Class 10 certificate. Similarly, Aadhaar must be updated with the latest photograph and latest biometrics (fingerprint and iris) before filling the online application.”
