RTO New Rules: The central government is going to simplify the rules related to driving licenses and vehicles. Now you won’t need to queue up at government offices for small matters. The Ministry of Road Transport aims to make all work online and encourage people to drive cautiously on the roads. The government’s intention isn’t just to issue fines, but to encourage people to drive responsible.

Until now, if you were between 40 and 60 years old, obtaining a fitness certificate from a doctor was required to obtain or renew your license. This was a waste of both time and money. Now the government is going to abolish this rule. This means you won’t need to provide a medical certificate, which will expedite the process and eliminate the role of middlemen.

Driving licenses suspended if you break traffic rules

Now, if you break traffic rules, you won’t be able to escape simply by paying a fine. A new “point system” is being implemented. Each offense will result in a number of penalty points being added to your license. If these points exceed the maximum, your license will be suspended for a period of time, and you will be barred from driving. This rule applies to those who repeatedly break the rules.

Insurance will be expensive if you drive wrongly.

The government is now preparing to add to your burden on bad driving. If you have a poor driving record and a high number of penalty points on your license, your vehicle insurance will become more expensive next time. Furthermore, buying or selling a vehicle can now be done from home using your Aadhaar card, eliminating the hassle of visiting the RTO.

You can change your address and number from your mobile phone.

You will no longer have to visit offices to change your phone number or address on your license. The digital system is being strengthened to the point where you can update all this information yourself from your mobile phone. The driving test and license process will also become much faster. Overall, good drivers will benefit, and digital surveillance will be implemented on those who violate the rules.
