In September, there is going to be a change in the rules of Aadhar card update, ITR, UPS and credit card. Also, like every month, the effect can be seen on the prices of LPG gas. First change – ITR filing
This time the Income Tax Department had extended the last date for filing ITR from 30 July to 15 September 2025, due to which taxpayers have got extra time to file returns, but now this time will end this month. In such a situation, you will have to file ITR before 15 September. Otherwise, a notice may come.
Second change – UPS deadline
Central government employees covered under the National Pension System (NPS) have time till September 30 to choose the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). Earlier this date was June 30, but later it was extended to September 30. This is a pension scheme started for government employees.
Third change – Indian Post Rules
The Department of Posts (DOP) is merging the domestic postal service with the Speed Post service from September 1, 2025, which means that now something can be sent only through Speed Post, not ordinary post. So if you send any registered post through India Post within the country from September 1, it will be a Speed Post delivery.
Fourth change – Credit card rules
SBI Card has announced changes in the rules for its select cards from September 1, 2025. The company has amended the reward points program for some of its cards. With this amendment, customers holding such cards will not be able to earn reward points on expenses related to digital gaming and transactions on government websites.
Fifth change – Special FD schemes
Banks like Indian Bank and IDBI Bank are currently running some special tenure FDs. The last date to invest in Indian Bank’s 444-day and 555-day schemes is September 30, 2025. Similarly, the last date to invest in IDBI Bank’s 444-day, 555-day and 700-day special FDs is also September 30.
Sixth change – CNG-PNG and jet fuel
Oil companies change the prices of CNG, PNG and jet fuel (AFT) along with LPG. It is expected that their prices may also change from the month of September.
Seventh change – LPG cylinder price
Like every month, the price of LPG cylinder may also change from September 1. The price of commercial cylinders has been changing for the last several months. Last month also there was a change in the price of commercial cylinders. In August, the commercial LPG cylinder price came down by Rs 33.50 and the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi became Rs 1,631.50. The price of LPG cylinder is Rs 853 in Delhi, which has not changed since April 8, 2025.
