Bihar News: After the cabinet meeting, Secretary Arvind Chaudhary said that the government has increased the allowances and honorarium of Home Guards, technical assistants working at the Panchayat level, IT assistants and Gram Kachhari secretaries.
The first cabinet meeting of September was held under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A total of 49 important proposals were approved in this meeting. This time the government has especially focused on youth and education sector. Also, the honorarium of those working at the village level and security personnel has also been increased.
Big decision on education in cabinet meeting
The biggest decision in the cabinet meeting was related to education. The Chief Minister had already promised to give government jobs to the youth, in the same direction, the cabinet has cleared the way to start studies in 40 new residential schools recently approved under the Scheduled Caste and Tribe Welfare Department. These schools will have education up to class 10 + 2. For this, the government has approved the creation of about 1800 new posts. These posts will include teachers and other non-teaching staff. This will not only provide better education to the children, but will also provide employment to a large number of youth.
New medical colleges will be opened in seven districts
In the same sequence, the Department of Art, Culture and Youth has also been strengthened. 25 new posts will be created in this department. Its objective is to promote the art and culture of the state and create new possibilities for the youth. A big decision was also taken regarding health services in the meeting. The government has approved the proposal to open new medical colleges in seven districts. These districts include – Kishanganj, Katihar, Rohtas, Shivhar, Lakhisarai, Arwal and Sheikhpura. This will greatly improve medical facilities in different parts of the state and people will not have to go far for treatment. Also, the opening of these colleges will also lead to new recruitments of doctors and medical staff. This step will prove to be a milestone in strengthening the health system.
This decision has been taken in furtherance of the government’s announcement made in Gandhi Maidan, so that people can get better health facilities and medical education in their own district.
Good news for Home Guards
After the cabinet meeting, Secretary Arvind Chaudhary said that the government has increased the allowances and honorarium of Home Guards, technical assistants working at the Panchayat level, IT assistants and Gram Kachhari secretaries. Now Home Guards will get Rs 1121 instead of Rs 774 per day earlier. Similarly, the honorarium of technical assistant and IT assistant has also been increased from July 1, 2025. Gram Kachhari secretaries have also been given a big relief, their honorarium has been increased from Rs 6000 to Rs 9000 per month, which will be applicable from July 2025.
Students’ stipend increased
The Health Department has increased the stipend amount of intern students of government medical, dental, Ayurveda, Unani, homeopathy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy colleges of the state. Now interns getting Rs 20,000 will get Rs 27,000 and those getting Rs 15,000 will get Rs 20,000 per month. Along with this, the Cabinet has also approved the creation of 3,233 new posts in various departments.
