SBI Auto Sweep Limit: The country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India, has given a big gift to its customers. The bank has increased the minimum limit for auto sweep facility in savings bank accounts from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000. The bank has informed the customers about this through e-mail. The bank said that we have increased the minimum limit of auto sweep facility from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000. Therefore, the next Multi Option Deposit (MOD) will start from Rs 50,000.
The bank has also shared the post on the social media platform “X”. The new rule will have a direct impact on the customers. Now more money will have to be kept in the account for the multi deposit option. All banks keep different limits for MOD or sweep auto.
SBI has increased this limit to Rs 50,000. Earlier this limit was Rs 35,000. This means that now if the savings account, cheque or current account has a balance of Rs 50,000 or more as determined by the bank, the account will be transferred to fixed deposit.

Multi Option Deposit (MOD) is a special scheme of State Bank of India. In this, the bank automatically transfers the extra money lying in your savings account to term deposit. This gives you more interest than the savings account. If there is shortage of money in the savings account, then the bank deposits the money from MOD back to your account. This is called reverse sweep.
