What does this change mean for you?
Now you will not get this extra protection during air travel. In such a situation, if you travel often and were dependent on free insurance for mental peace, then you may now have to take separate travel or personal accident insurance.
Experts advise that if this benefit is important for you, then definitely look at the individual travel or personal accident insurance policy available in the market.
All card holders are advised to read the new terms and conditions of their card and understand which benefits are still available.
In case of any confusion or confusion, take detailed information from SBI Card Customer Care.
Till now, all the cards in this list provided air accident insurance cover to the card holders without any additional charge or application. In case of an accident during air travel, a cover of up to Rs 1 crore or Rs 50 lakh could be given directly to your family. This feature was considered a major feature of premium credit cards.
Why did SBI take such a decision?
Even though SBI Card did not officially give the reason, this is a growing trend in the banking and finance industry. Many other banks are also gradually stopping such complimentary benefits or tightening their terms, so that the benefits reach only a limited number of users and the cost of the banks is also controlled.
