School Closed: There is big news for school children studying in Gautam Buddha Nagar i.e. Noida and Greater Noida. The district administration has issued an order that all schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 21. This decision has been taken in view of the Guru Dronacharya Fair, which is held every year at the Guru Dronacharya Temple in Dankaur, Greater Noida.

Actually, during the fair, a large number of people come here and there is a huge crowd in the area. Due to this, traffic jams and other problems can arise. Keeping in mind the safety of children and traffic system, the administration has declared a holiday. According to the order, all government and private schools in the district from nursery to class 12 will remain closed on August 21.

Holidays will be available next week also

Students will get the benefit of continuous holidays this month. After August 21, schools will remain closed on Wednesday, August 27 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. At the same time, schools will also be closed across the country on the beginning of Onam on August 26. That is, the last week of August will be full of festivals and holidays for the students.

What is Guru Dronacharya Mela?

Guru Dronacharya Mela is celebrated with great pomp every year. This fair is organized in the memory of the famous Guru Dronacharya of the Mahabharata period, who taught the Kauravas and Pandavas. The fair is organized in the Sri Drona Natya Shala campus and it lasts for about 10 days. Cultural programs, competitions and religious events are organized here.

Schools were closed last year too

Due to Guru Dronacharya Mela, holidays were also declared in schools and colleges in previous years. On September 12, 2023 also, the administration had ordered to keep all schools, colleges and universities closed. All the schools in the district were also kept closed on 30 August 2024. At that time the district administration had also clarified that no additional classes or practice sessions would be held in the schools.

The District School Inspector (DIOS) and the district administration have asked all the schools to inform the parents and students about the holiday in time. Along with this, instructions have also been given to strictly follow the order.
