School Holiday: Big relief for school student..! Due to cold, schools have been declared closed for so many days, DM has issued orders.

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: Due to the severe cold, schools in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have declared holidays. However, teachers and other staff have been instructed to attend school and perform departmental work.

School Holiday: In view of the increasing cold, dense fog, and cold wave, district administrations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand have declared school holidays in several districts. District magistrates have issued orders in this regard. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has also announced a winter vacation for all council schools from December 31, 2025, to January 14, 2026. Teachers have been instructed to complete all their departmental work by December 30. This holiday will apply to both students and teachers.

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted a cold wave and dense fog over the next two to three days, which is why the administration has decided to close schools. On Monday, an orange alert for dense fog was issued in 37 districts of Uttar Pradesh. A cold day warning has been issued for day temperatures in 12 cities. A cold wave, dense fog, and cold day warning has also been issued in Bihar.

Schools Closed in These Districts of UP

On the instructions of Bareilly District Magistrate Avinash Singh, District Public Service Commission (BSA) Dr. Vineeta issued an order declaring a holiday on December 29th and 30th in all council, secondary, government, and aided schools from grades 1 to 8. However, all teachers will be present in school from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for departmental work.

Mainpuri District Magistrate Anjani Kumar Singh has declared a holiday until December 30th for all government and non-government schools in the district up to grade 8. During this period, teachers and office staff will be present in school from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm to complete necessary work.

Gorakhpur District Magistrate Deepak Meena has ordered schools up to grade 12 in the district to remain closed until December 31st. Strict action will be taken against those who disobey the order.

In Sambhal, keeping in mind the health of children, all schools from nursery to 12th grade have declared a holiday on December 29th and 30th. This order was issued by District Magistrate Rajendra Peshiya.

Following the instructions of Rae Bareli District Magistrate Harshita Mathur, Basic Education Officer Rahul Singh has declared a holiday on December 29th and 30th. This holiday will apply to students from grades 1 to 8 in all schools across all boards.

In Unnao, a holiday has been declared on December 29th and 30th for students from nursery to grade 5th, while classes in grades 6 to 8th will be held from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.

In Hardoi district, schools across all boards will be closed on Monday. Following the DM’s instructions, the BSA has issued orders to close classes from grades 1 to 8 across all boards. Ambedkar Nagar District Magistrate Anupam Shukla has ordered the closure of schools up to grade 8 on December 29th.

In Muzaffarnagar, all schools from grades 1 to 8 will be closed on December 29th, 2025. The Mau and Chandauli District Magistrates have issued instructions to close all schools up to grade 8 on December 29th and 30th.

DM Gyanendra Singh has declared a two-day holiday (Monday-Tuesday) for schools from grades 1 to 8 in Pilibhit district. In Ballia, all schools have also been declared closed on December 29th and 30th.

In Lucknow, all council, primary, and upper primary schools, aided schools, and schools affiliated with all boards, from pre-primary to grade 12th, have been declared closed from December 29th to January 1st, 2026.

In Agra, all schools from nursery to grade 12th have been declared closed until January 1st. This order applies equally to all government, aided, and private schools.

Schools are also closed in Uttarakhand and Bihar.

In light of the weather forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department, Dehradun, the District Magistrate of Udham Singh Nagar has declared a holiday on December 29th for students up to grade 12 in all government, semi-government, private, and government-aided schools and Anganwadi centers in the district.

Sheikhpura District Magistrate Shekhar Anand, Bihar, has completely suspended teaching in all government and private schools from nursery to grade 5th until December 31st. This order has been implemented under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023. Educational activities for students above grade 6th will be conducted from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Nalanda District Magistrate Kundan Kumar has issued a holiday order for students up to grade 10th until December 31st. This order will apply to all government and private schools, preschools, and Anganwadi centers from grades 1 to 10th. The District Magistrate has directed that this order will apply equally to all institutions in the district and management must strictly adhere to it.

The Bhojpur District Magistrate has suspended academic activities in all private and government schools from grades 1 to 8 until December 31st. Nurseries, pre-schools, and Anganwadi centers will also remain closed during this period.

Keeping the health of students in mind, Bhagalpur District Magistrate Naval Kishore Chaudhary has declared a holiday in all government and private schools (including pre-schools, Anganwadi centers, and coaching institutes) up to grade 8 until December 31st. However, all classes above grade 9 will operate between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Special classes and examinations conducted for board and pre-board examinations will be exempt from this order.
