School Holiday: Schools closed in many districts of UP due to cold and fog, DM issues order

Due to severe cold, dense fog and cold day conditions, 2 to 3 more days of holiday have been declared in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, however, the timings of schools in Jalaun and Kanpur have been changed. In this regard, the DM has issued separate orders.

School Holidays 2025: Due to severe cold and dense fog, the district administration in many districts of Uttar Pradesh has issued orders for school holidays and change in timings. On the instructions of Siddharthnagar District Magistrate Shivsharanappa G.N., today, Monday, there will be a holiday for classes 1 to 12 in all CBSE, ICSE, council, recognized, non-government and non-government aided schools of the district. In Sultanpur, there will also be a holiday on Monday in schools up to class 8.

Schools closed in these districts of Uttar Pradesh till December 24

On the instructions of the Ambedkar Nagar District Magistrate, an order has been issued to close all government, non-government, aided, and private educational institutions up to the intermediate level in the district on December 22, 23, and 24, 2025. This order will apply to all schools from nursery to grade 12.

In Amethi, all schools up to grade 8 will be closed from December 22 to 24. Farrukhabad District Magistrate Ashutosh Kumar Dwivedi has also declared a holiday for students in grades 1 to 12 on December 22 and 23.

The Meerut District Administration has declared a two-day holiday on December 22 and 23 for all schools from nursery to grade 8. This order will apply to schools across all boards. Strict action will be taken against schools that violate the order.

As per the instructions of Rae Bareli District Magistrate Harshita Mathur, there will be holiday on 22nd and 23rd December in all council, aided, government recognized and schools of all boards and all mediums running from pre-primary to class 8.

School timings in Kanpur and Jalaun have been changed.

School timings in Kanpur have been changed. According to an order issued by District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh, starting Monday, schools affiliated with all boards from nursery to grade 12 will operate from 10 am to 3 pm. According to an order from Jalaun District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Pandey, all schools from nursery to grade 8 will operate from 10 am to 9 am starting Monday, December 22nd, instead of 9 am. This order applies to all government, semi-government, and private schools. The final decision regarding school closure or reopening will be based on the orders of the respective district administration.

These holidays will also fall at the end of December

Schools across the country will be closed on December 21st and 28th, as the weekly holiday falls on Sunday. Additionally, schools are expected to remain closed in several states, including Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Telangana, between December 24th and 26th due to the Christmas festival. There will be a holiday on December 26th for Guru Udham Singh Jayanti in Haryana and on December 27th for Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti in Uttar Pradesh.
