School Holiday: There is good news for school students. Keeping in mind the waterlogging caused by heavy rains, Collector Arun Kumar Purohit declared a holiday on August 29 in schools in Nagaur for students from class 1 to 12 and in Anganwadi centers. Today, Friday, all educational institutions in Manali subdivision of Himachal Pradesh and 9 schools in Kullu subdivision will remain closed.

Due to the Nuakhai festival celebrated in Odisha, the state government has decided to keep government offices and schools closed on August 29 as well. Schools will remain closed on August 31 due to Sunday.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has announced a holiday in all government and private schools (primary, secondary and senior secondary) of the state till August 30.
Schools in Jammu division will now remain closed till August 30. This order will apply to both government and private schools in the Union Territory. August 31 is a Sunday, so schools will open on September 1.
