School Holiday: In the letter issued by the Deputy Commissioner, the following orders have been issued to the District Education Officer (SE/PE)-
School Holiday: The floods in Punjab had engulfed the entire state, due to which holidays were declared in schools and colleges in Punjab. But now, while almost all the schools in the state have opened, holidays are still going on in many places.
12 government schools in the flood-affected areas of Kapurthala district will remain closed for the next 2 days. The Deputy Commissioner has taken this decision on the report of the officials of the Education Department.

In the letter issued by the Deputy Commissioner, the following orders have been issued to the District Education Officer (C.E./P.E.), Kapurthala:
Strict compliance with the instructions issued by the government in this regard should be ensured.
In this regard, it should be ensured that the safety of children in schools is given priority and no negligence of any kind is allowed.
These orders are issued only on the basis of the report/recommendation received by the District Education Officer (S.E./P.E.), Kapurthala. In this regard, after conducting a complete assessment of the above schools, the undersigned should be informed about the latest situation by 16-09-2025 so that the next decision regarding the opening of the schools can be taken in the light of the instructions of the government. Along with this, the Ex., P. W. D. (B. & R), Division No. 1 and 2 Kapurthala are instructed to assess the safety of the structure of the school building while assessing the above schools and send the complete report through the District Education Officer (S.E./P.E.), Kapurthala.
Apart from the above schools, if there is a need to close any other school keeping in mind the safety of the school children, then immediate action should be taken in this regard.
