Schools Closed: Good news for students! Schools closed for 3 months in these states, know the reason

Schools Closed News: Schools in many states will remain closed in December. On one hand, schools and colleges may be closed again due to the storm, while on the other hand, heavy snowfall has already closed schools for three months.

Schools Closed Latest News: Schools in many Indian states are closing for various reasons. Children will be unable to attend school in the second week of December due to various reasons, including cyclones, teachers’ strikes, and heavy snowfall. Winter vacations are also set to begin in many areas. Let’s explore the areas where schools are closing.

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh

Heavy rains caused by Cyclone Ditwah have severely disrupted normal life in India’s southeastern coastal areas. In early December, schools, colleges, Anganwadis, and other educational institutions were ordered closed in Tamil Nadu due to heavy rains and strong winds. However, the situation remains unclear. Roads are flooded due to the rains, prompting parents to request a school and college holiday. It is believed that the government may decide to close schools for the next week due to the current situation.

Teachers’ strike in Maharashtra

A large number of teaching and non-teaching staff in Maharashtra are on strike, directly impacting the academic schedule of schools. Of the approximately 25,000 schools in the state, approximately 18,000 schools in grades 9 and 10 have completely suspended classes. The greatest impact is being felt in the Marathwada region, where many schools have not opened for several days. Mumbai has seen less impact, but if the disruption continues, schools in other districts may remain closed until next week.

However, the government has warned striking employees and teachers that one day’s salary will be deducted for each day they remain absent. This statement has drawn strong reactions from unions, with representatives stating that the protests will continue until their demands are met.

Schools will remain closed in Kerala on December 9 and 11.

The Kerala government has declared December 9, 2025, and December 11, 2025, as public holidays due to the 2025 local body elections. This order applies to all public offices and educational institutions across the state. Commercial companies have also been directed to provide paid leave to their employees on these dates.

According to the official notification, both holidays will be observed district-wise. This arrangement has been made to ensure smooth polling and effective voter participation in the respective areas. The government has clearly stated the distribution of holidays across the state’s 14 districts, dividing them into two groups based on the polling schedule.
