SEBI’s ultimatum regarding PAN and Aadhaar, your PAN card is before July 2017 so read this important news

According to the information given by the government, earlier the last date for linking Aadhaar with PAN was 30 June, which has now been extended by three months to 30 September 2021.

Aadhaar Pan Linking Deadline: An ultimatum till 30 September has been given to link PAN card with Aadhaar. Your PAN card will be closed if it is not linked with Aadhaar by this date. This time the government has given clear instructions. Actually, CBDT i.e. Central Board of Direct Taxes has issued instructions in this regard. Now following the instructions of CBDT, SEBI i.e. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued instructions in this regard.




As you already know that like Voter ID, Driving License etc. Aadhar card and PAN card are also included in very important documents. You need it often. You need PAN number in any kind of financial transaction.

Whether to take a loan from the bank, to transfer a huge amount to someone, to do commercial transactions or to do any work related to income tax, it is not possible without a PAN card. In such a situation, if the PAN card is closed, then you may have to face many problems.

Do you have PAN card before 2nd July 2017?

SEBI has issued an ultimatum regarding Aadhaar-PAN linking on the instructions of CBDT. Especially for those people whose PAN card is before 2nd July 2017. If you have also got a PAN card made before July 2, 2017, then the last date for linking Aadhaar-PAN is 30 September. Following the instructions of CBDT, SEIB has issued instructions in this regard.

The last date has been extended many times

The government had made it mandatory to link PAN-Aadhaar long back. Its last date has been extended several times. Earlier the last date for linking Aadhaar with PAN was 30 June, which has now been extended by three months to 30 September 2021. According to the information given by the government, people may find it difficult to link Aadhaar by the last date and their PAN card can also be made inactive.

How to link Aadhaar-PAN?

The easiest way to link Aadhaar with PAN online is to visit the new Income Tax website. Visit the new https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal. After this click on ‘Link Aadhar’ from the facilities available there. A new page will open. In this, you have to fill PAN, Aadhaar number, your name and mobile number present on Aadhaar.

If only year of birth is written in your Aadhaar, then you have to tick this option- ‘I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card’.

After this, confirm by ticking the box in front of ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details’. Then click on ‘Link Aadhaar’. After this a confirmation page will open. In this you will see that your Aadhaar number has been successfully generated from PAN.




What will happen if Aadhaar is not linked?

It is mandatory to link Aadhar- PAN card. Actually, if your PAN is not linked with Aadhaar, then you may have to face problems in financial service. This will not only cause problems regarding your income tax, while you may also find it difficult to take advantage of the bank’s service. Along with this, penalty will also have to be paid for reactivation of PAN card, so alerts are being issued continuously about getting Aadhaar linked as soon as possible.
