Energy Minister AK Sharma said that smart meters will be installed in government buildings first. In case of any irregularity, action will be taken against everyone from the lineman to the chairman.
Energy Minister AK Sharma presented his views in the Assembly on Friday in the capital Lucknow. He said that usually there are women personnel in the vigilance team, but now it will be mandatory. Similarly, prepaid smart meters will be installed in government buildings first. He was answering the questions of SP MLAs Nafees Ahmed, Rajendra Chaudhary, Faim Irfan in the Assembly.
The Energy Minister also responded to the much talked about Azamgarh electricity bill case of Rs. 7.99 billion. He said that there was an error in the bill. It has been corrected. He said that all the members are requested to inform if there is any error.
Action will be taken against everyone from the lineman to the corporation chairman. The worn out wires are being replaced. During this, Gopalpur MLA Nafees Ahmed said that smart meters were to be installed on government buildings earlier, but only 15% have been installed so far.
Once there was uproar in the House on this issue, but the Speaker of the Assembly pacified it by explaining. Then the Energy Minister assured that smart meters will be installed on government buildings on priority basis.
