Special Trains: On the occasion of the martyrdom day of India’s ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Indian Railways has made a major and very important announcement for the devotees. The Railway Ministry has announced that the Railways will launch special train services to ensure a smooth, safe, and dignified journey for the devotees coming from across the country on this auspicious occasion. This announcement was made by Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu, who said that the Railways is making these special arrangements to pay tribute to Guru Sahib’s immortal martyrdom and his indomitable courage.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life to protect religious freedom, humanity, and truth. This is why thousands and lakhs of devotees visit Sri Anandpur Sahib on his martyrdom day. Given this massive crowd and its religious significance, the Railways has already prepared a comprehensive plan to ensure that no passenger faces any inconvenience.
Two major special trains, four-day service
The Railway Ministry stated that, in view of the expected large number of pilgrims, special train services will be operated on two different routes. One train will depart from Patna Sahib, while the other, a fully AC train, will depart from Old Delhi. These services will commence on November 22, 2025, and will remain available until November 25.
The purpose of these trains is to ensure that pilgrims from across the country can reach Sri Anandpur Sahib comfortably and face no problems on their return journey. The Railways has urged everyone to plan their travel schedules in advance and take advantage of this facility.
