Diwali-Chhath Special Train: For the convenience of passengers from various cities of Madhya Pradesh including Jabalpur to Bihar during Diwali and Chhath festival, West Central Railway has decided to run several special trains.
Diwali-Chhath Special Train: The festivals of Diwali and Chhath are celebrated with great enthusiasm in Jabalpur, along with other parts of Madhya Pradesh. Consequently, a large number of travelers travel from city to city. During Chhath Puja, people stay overnight at the ghats to worship the Sun and Chhathi Maiya. Jabalpur is home to a majority of North Indian communities, who travel to and from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. To ensure that travelers don’t face any inconvenience during Diwali and Chhath, special trains will soon be running on the tracks.
If you haven’t already made reservations, please do so as long as there are long waiting lists for trains to Bihar. Now that the Railways has decided to run special trains, passengers have once again begun making reservations. These reservations can be made easily online from home or by visiting the nearest railway station.
Train coaches will be increased with the special trains.
West Central Railway CPRO Harshit Srivastava stated that the West Central Railway has decided to run special trains for the convenience of passengers during Diwali and Chhath. While some new special trains will run, some trains will also have extended coaches. This decision was made in response to passenger demand. Furthermore, some trains will also be extended, with trains that typically run with 22 coaches now running with 24. These trains will pass through major stations like Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, and Bhopal.
These are the special trains during the Chhath and Diwali festivals.
Jabalpur to Danapur Special Train: Train No. 01701, the Jabalpur to Danapur Special Train, will depart from Jabalpur at 19:35 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays until November 5th. Train No. 01702, the Danapur to Jabalpur Special Train, will depart from Danapur station at 11:00 am on Thursdays and Saturdays until November 6th, 2025. This train will run between Jabalpur and Danapur and will stop at Sihora Road, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Mirzapur, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, and Ara stations.
Furthermore, a Rani Kamlapati to Danapur Special Train is also being operated. Two permanent additional coaches have been added, providing passengers with 136 additional confirmed berths. This train will depart from Rani Kamlapati station starting today, October 7th, and will stop at Narmadapuram, Itarsi, Pipariya, Gadarwara, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Sihora Road, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Mirzapur, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, and Ara stations.
In addition, other special trains will also operate. A special train will run between Bandra Terminus and Barhni station, which will also stop at Ratlam station. The Udhna-Barauni-Udhna special train and the Udhna-Ballia-Udhna special train will also operate.
