The government has made a new rule regarding the second dose of coviculated vaccine.

The central government has increased the difference between the two doses of covicillin vaccine to 12 to 16 weeks. Till now Covishield was going on a difference of 6 to 8 weeks. However, there has been no change in the interval of doses of covacine made in the country.

The National Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI) on vaccination suggested that Covishield’s dose interval be increased amid reports of not enough vaccine available. The government has accepted this suggestion. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan also gave information about this by tweeting.

Earlier, the central government had extended the time between two doses of the Kovishield vaccine by two weeks in advance. Initially, there was a difference of 4 to 6 weeks, ie 28 to 42 days between the two doses of Kovishield. After this, it was increased from 6 to 8 weeks i.e. 42 to 56 days.

According to media reports, Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India (SII), which is making covicshield in India, said that vaccine is effective up to 90% if there is a gap of two to three months between doses.

The Covishield vaccine has developed in England. It is being produced at the Serum Institute of India (SII) in Pune, India. Oxford University, the maker of this, had claimed that this vaccine is 70.4 percent effective. Later it was also revealed that if half the amount is given in the first dose of this vaccine and the entire dose in the second dose, then above 90 percent can be effective.

No change in dose of covaxine

There has been no change in the dose interval of Corona’s second vaccine Kovaccin on behalf of the government. Covaxine has developed in India. It is being produced in Hyderabad’s Bharat Biotech. The vaccine was approved without a third phase trial. Questions were also raised on this. Later the primary data for the third phase trial came. The vaccine was claimed to be 81 percent effective. Two doses of this vaccine are being given at an interval of 28 days.

Certified vaccine will be able to come to India

The government is going to take another big step to overcome the shortage of corona vaccine in the country. NITI Aayog member Doctor VK Paul has said that the corona vaccine certified by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the US can be imported into India. Import license will be given for this in one to two days. He said that no import license is pending now. He told that from August to December, we will have 216 crore doses of eight vaccines.

VK Paul also told that from next week, people can also be given Sputnik V vaccine. Production of this vaccine will start in India from July. VK Paul said that Sputnik vaccine has reached India. We expect that it will be available in the market from next week. We also hope that a limited quantity of vaccine from Russia will start selling next week.
