For this now you do not need to go to the Aadhaar center. You can get it repaired from the comfort of your home. Let us tell you this step-by-step process to correct the information:
To change address in Aadhaar card: Visit resident.uidai.gov.in and click on ‘Request Aadhaar Validation Letter’ given in Aadhaar Update section. After this the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP) will open. Login using your 12 digit Aadhaar number. A link will be received on your registered mobile number through SMS. To verify by entering OTP and captcha. After this, you will have to go to the UIDAI website and click on ‘Proceed to Update Address’. And the option of Update Address via Secret Code has to be selected. After entering the ‘Secret Code’, check the new address and click on Submit. Now note down the ‘Update Request Number’ (URN) that appears on the screen.
Process to change name in Aadhar card: For this, first go to ssup.uidai.gov.in. Here you will see the option of Proceed then Update Aadhaar, click on it. After this you will have a page open, here you will have to login with your 12 digit Aadhaar number. After this, fill the captcha given on the screen and click on Send OTP, after which the OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. After entering the OTP, a new page will open in front of you in the next steps, in which you will have to enter your personal details, such as your address, date of birth, name and gender, and many other information. Here you will get the option to update from name to address and email address. Now if you want to change the name, then click on Name. Keep in mind that you must have an ID proof to update the name. As ID Proof, PAN Card, DL, Voter ID, Or you can use ration card. After entering all the details, a verification OTP will be sent to your number and verify it and save the change.
To change the date of birth in Aadhar card, go to Self Service Update Portal of Aadhar. Now select the option of ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’ present in the portal of Aadhar card. Enter your 12 digit Aadhar card number and verify the captcha code. Click on send OTP option, which will then be sent to your mobile phone. Enter the OTP sent on your registered mobile number in the portal and click on login. Select Date of Birth. After that make the changes you want to make and update the information.
