IRCTC Aadhaar Link – The rules for booking train tickets online are going to be stricter starting October 1st. So, when should people make reservations when they have a good chance of getting a confirmed ticket?
New Delhi. From October 1, the rules for making online reservations in trains are going to be strict. Only those people who have an Aadhaar linked account will be able to make reservations within 15 minutes of the booking opening at 8 am. Along with this, IRCTC’s authorized agent will not be allowed to make bookings for the first 10 minutes. That means they will be able to make bookings only after 10 minutes. In such a situation, at what time should common people make reservations when there is a high probability of getting a confirmed ticket, let’s find out-
Indian Railways had earlier made Aadhaar mandatory for IRCTC users for Tatkal booking to stop people from booking tickets in a wrong way. Now Aadhaar linking has been made mandatory even for the first 10 minutes of booking opening. With the new rule, users with Aadhaar linking are more likely to get tickets.
The reason behind the new rule
Actually, train reservations are now open 60 days in advance. For trains departing after 60 days, reservations open at 8 a.m. This is because the PRS (Passenger Reservation System) window opens at 8 a.m. Therefore, people begin booking reservations for trains headed to certain cities, including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, at 8 a.m. Therefore, a new Aadhaar linking rule has been introduced for IRCTC users.
When is the chance of getting a confirmed ticket higher?
As soon as booking opens at 8 am, IRCTC users across the country begin the reservation process. This slows down the server. Most users have normal internet access, which takes time. During this time, confirmed tickets are booked.
IRCTC authorized agents have faster internet speeds, but they are not allowed to book for the first 10 minutes. However, if someone makes a reservation through an authorized IRCTC agent within the 10-minute window, they will have a higher chance of getting a confirmed ticket than a regular user.
The peak time will only last for 5 minutes. After this, all users (without Aadhaar linkage) will arrive, increasing the number of people booking simultaneously. Therefore, booking through an authorized agent between 8:10 am and 8:15 am will be more likely to get a confirmed ticket.
