Indian Railways allows people to reach their desired destinations safely at low cost. Every day millions of passengers reach their destinations by Indian trains. Indian Railways provides good travel comfort to the passengers.
But recently Indian Railways has implemented a new rule for its passengers. Accordingly, Indian Railways will now provide passengers with the flexibility to change the date of travel without having to cancel their reserved tickets. It also provides this facility completely free without any additional charges.
Going into full details regarding this, usually most of us reserve the train ticket few days before going to any place. But due to some reasons we may have to change our travel date. In such situations we cancel the previously reserved ticket and book the train ticket again for another day.
But now there is no need to do this. Indian Railways has given you the option to change your pre-booked ticket to another date of your choice without canceling it. For this, you have to surrender your pre-reserved ticket at the ticket reservation counter 48 hours before the train journey.
After you surrender your ticket at the reservation counter, you need to inform the staff at the counter of your new travel date. Not only can you change the date of travel but also change your class. Now after providing the information about your new journey to the staff, the railway staff will make changes to your new journey.
This service is completely free. If you want to change the class, you will have to pay the tariff for the upgraded class. But keep in mind that this change is only possible if there are seats available in the train on the day you want to book.
