Train Timings Affected: Many trains, including Vande Bharat, running on this route will be delayed tomorrow; note the timings.

Central Railway News: The Central Railway has announced a mega block on Sunday, September 28, 2025. The railway administration stated that this block is being imposed to carry out necessary track repair and engineering work to ensure passenger safety and smooth train operations. Several local and mail/express trains on the Mumbai division will be affected during this period.

Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Dr. Swapnil Neela said in a statement that the mega block will be in effect on Sunday from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM on the 5th and 6th lines of the main line between Vidya Vihar and Thane. Additionally, the block will also be in effect on the up and down Trans-Harbour lines between Thane and Vashi/Nerul from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM.

Affected Trains

The railway administration clarified that several long-distance mail and express trains will be diverted during the block. These trains may be delayed by 10 to 15 minutes in reaching their destination.

Down Mail/Express trains (departing from LTT):

  • 11055 LTT–Gorakhpur Express
  • 11061 LTT–Jaynagar Pawan Express
  • 16345 LTT–Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express
  • 17222 LTT–Kakinada Express

All these trains will be diverted to the Down Fast Line at Vidya Vihar station and will be rerouted to the 5th Line at Thane.

Up Mail/Express trains (destined for CSMT):

  • 11010 Pune–CSMT Sinhagad Express
  • 12124 Pune–CSMT Deccan Queen
  • 12126 Pune–CSMT Pragati Express
  • 12140 Nagpur–CSMT Sevagram Express
  • 22226 Solapur–CSMT Vande Bharat Express
  • 12321 Howrah–CSMT Mail
  • 11012 Dhule–CSMT Express

All these trains will be diverted to the Up fast line at Thane and will be delayed by 10 to 15 minutes.

Up Mail/Express trains (destined for LTT):

  • 13201 Rajgir–LTT Express
  • 17221 Kakinada–LTT Express
  • 12168 Varanasi–LTT Superfast Express
  • 12812 Hatia–LTT Express

These trains will be diverted to the Up Fast Line at Thane and rerouted via the 6th Line at Vidya Vihar. Delays of 10 to 15 minutes are also expected.

Trans-Harbour Line services will be affected.

  • Up and down Trans-Harbour Line services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will be completely suspended from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm on Sunday.
  • Down line services (from Thane to Vashi/Nerul/Panvel) will be cancelled from 10:35 am to 4:07 pm.
  • Up line services (from Panvel/Nerul/Vashi to Thane) will be cancelled from 10:25 am to 4:09 pm.

Passenger Advice

The railway administration has urged passengers to plan their travels carefully, taking into account potential delays. Local commuters have been requested to use alternative routes and timings to avoid inconvenience. Central Railway states that this mega block is essential to ensure passenger safety and smooth operation in the future. Engineering and signaling maintenance work will be completed during this period.
