Train Update: Routes of these trains changed, Gaya Junction closed for 45 days, know the reason

Bihar Train News: A 45-day mega block has been imposed at Gaya Junction, beginning Thursday and ending March 21, to renovate platforms number two and three. This has affected the operation of dozens of trains, including the cancellation of the Patna-Gaya MEMU train, while eight other trains will continue to operate for passenger convenience.

Gaya: A 45-day mega block is underway at Gaya Junction in Bihar. The Railways have taken a major step to improve infrastructure. Platforms 2 and 3 will be reconstructed. This mega block, effective today, will continue until March 21st. Both platforms will not be usable for 45 days. Keeping passenger convenience in mind, the railway administration has maintained eight important trains running between Gaya and Patna. However, a pair of Patna-Gaya MEMU trains have been cancelled. Due to the route changes of dozens of trains, passengers have been advised to consult the timetable for their travel.

Reconstruction of Platforms 2 and 3

The concerned railway department has been instructed to ensure that passengers face minimal inconvenience during the construction work. Officials have been asked to maintain special vigilance to ensure proper train operations and timely provision of platform changes to avoid any chaos at Gaya Junction.

These trains have been diverted.

  • The Bhabua-Patna Intercity, Ganga Damodar Express, Buddha Purnima Express, and Hatia-Purnia Court Express will operate via a different route.
  • The 14224 Buddha Purnima Express will run via Sasaram, Ara, and Patna.
  • The 13329/13330 Ganga Damodar Express will travel via Fatuha, Islampur, Natesar, Tilaiya, Paimar, and Bandhua to Dhanbad.
  • The 18625 and 18626 Hatia-Purnia Court-Hatia Express will run via Badhuapal, Karanauti, Rajgir, Paimar, Tilaiya, and Bandhua.
  • The 13243 and 13244 Bhabua-Patna Intercity will operate via Ara-Sasaram.
  • The 22409 and 22410 Gaya Anand Vihar-Gaya Weekly Express will run via DDU Station from February 7th to March 21st.
  • 14259 and 14260 Gaya-Lucknow Ekta will run only from February 7 to March 21.

Timings of trains running between Gaya and Patna

  • Train No. 63242 departs from Gaya Junction at 4:45 AM towards Patna
  • Train No. 63394 departs from Gaya Junction at 5:20 AM
  • Train No. 63244 departs from Gaya Junction at 5:45 AM
  • Train No. 63246 departs from Gaya at 9:00 AM
  • Train No. 6323 departs from Gaya at 2:20 PM
  • Train No. 63256 departs from Gaya at 6:00 PM
  • Train No. 63258 departs from Gaya at 6:45 PM

These trains will now run from Chakand instead of Gaya.

  • Trains from Gaya Junction to Patna and from Patna to Gaya will operate from Chakand station.
  • The distance from Gaya Junction to Chakand is approximately 10 kilometers.
  • There is road access to and from Gaya to Chakand.
  • Train number 63248, departing from Gaya Junction for Patna at 10:30 am, will continue to Chakand.
  • Train number 63250, departing from Gaya for Patna at 12:05 pm, will only reach Chakand.
  • Memu trains number 63295 and 63296, running between Gaya-DDU-Gaya, will operate from Chakand.

Passengers travelling between Gaya and Patna, please note:

Train number 53214, departing from Gaya for Patna at 1:45 PM, and MEMU train number 53213, departing from Patna for Gaya at 4:30 PM, have been cancelled. These trains will remain cancelled from Thursday until March 21st. Trains running on the down line using lines 2 and 3 will be diverted to lines 6 and 7.

The Purnia Court-Hatia via Saharsa Up-Down Kosi Express will operate on a diverted route for 45 consecutive days, from February 5th to March 21st.

Due to the mega block being implemented for the redevelopment of Gayaji station, this train’s route will be diverted from Bakhtiyarpur. It will travel to and from Hatia (Ranchi) via Biharsharif, Rajgir, Tilaiya, Bandhua Paimar, and Koderma.

The cancellation of some trains to Patna will increase the inconvenience to passengers from Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, and Purnia.

After the Rajya Rani Express departs at 12:20 PM, the next train to Saharsa will be the Intercity Express from Rajendranagar at 7:20 AM the next day.

Passengers will have to wait a long 19 hours. If they wish to avoid this wait, they will have to travel to Danapur or Hajipur to catch the Vande Bharat train at 5:10 PM.
